Viewrail: Tailor-made staircase and railing systems, visualized using high-quality 3D renderings
The US staircase and railing manufacturer Viewrail in Goshen near Chicago stands for high-quality staircases and railings that blend naturally and weightlessly into their surroundings. This is made possible by individual consultation, a respectful approach to high-quality materials, high standards for its own designs and the support of high-quality CGI images for brand communication.
In 2022, we were able to travel to Goshen Chicago for the first time. Viewrail doesn't sell stairs and railings, Viewrail sells dreams that have become reality. But how exactly do you show this to customers?
Danthree Studio: Experts in photorealistic 3D product images
This is where we at Danthree Studio come into play. We were asked to design 3D product images of stairs and railing systems for the various presentations of Viewrail's possibilities, which communicate both the brand and the demands on the individuality of each project.
Our CGI artists did what Viewrail does with its own customers: we spent a long time immersing ourselves in Viewrail's products, working methods and visions. The brand spaces that we were allowed to create for the 3D visualizations of stairs and railings breathe Viewrail's identity.
3D visualizations for indoor and outdoor stairs and railing systems
Indoor, outdoor - and it's always about stairs and railing systems. As a staircase manufacturer, Viewrail is known for iconic staircases that float weightlessly in space. Regardless of which materials are used, the steps radiate a natural lightness and have none of the massive heaviness that one would associate with indoor and outdoor staircases.
The reason for this lies in dealing with the statics and handling the railing. Viewrail from Goshen near Chicago (USA) is also a railing manufacturer and specializes in the materials glass and cable. This was a particular challenge for our CGI artists.
Textures for stairs and railings in photorealistic 3D renderings
Although glass allows a view of what lies behind it, it refracts the light. The view is not unobstructed and unaltered, and of course light reflections and diffuse shadows create additional tension.
Designing these textures in the 3D visualizations of stairs and railings and creating photorealistic showrooms was a real challenge.
This also applies to outdoor areas: as an agency for CGI product images, we know how important the details are. Renderings of stairs and railing systems are only credible if everything is right, from the incidence of light and the 3D surface structure to the small subtleties of reflections. Optics and tangible haptics - that's what counts.
