3D visualizations and CGI are performance-intensive and require powerful hardware and software from the digitization of materials / surfaces, 3D modelling to the finished 3D visualization or on-site meetings with our customers. This goes hand in hand with a high use of resources, from the production of the hardware to the creation of the finished 3D visualizations or 3D animations.
Let's face it: climate protection is more important than ever! By offsetting CO2 emissions, we are able to offer our services at Danthree Studio in a climate-neutral way.
Why climate protection is a concern for us at Danthree Studio
The excessively high CO₂ emissions in recent decades are contributing to the fact that the earth is continuing to warm up.
To put it simply: CO₂ is released when electricity is generated, waste is incinerated, fossil fuels are used for heating and goods are transported around the world. CO₂ accumulates in the atmosphere. The sun's rays can pass through this enriched atmosphere and ensure that the temperatures here on Earth are in a range that allows life to exist.
However, some of the radiation should actually be reflected and radiate back into space. The radiation is reflected on the earth's surface, but the gas mixture in the atmosphere does not allow the rays back into space, but reflects them back to earth. This makes it warmer and warmer here - this is climate change.
The solution: There is no solution. We can slow down and perhaps even stop climate change by producing less CO₂. That's why our 3D visualizations and CGI projects are created in a climate-neutral way. In our case, however, climate-neutral does not mean that no CO₂ is released into the atmosphere when we provide our services. We do not achieve that. But we do create a CO₂ offset.
Our CO₂ compensation for a sustainable tomorrow
CO₂ offsetting is one way of preventing CO₂ where it is produced. We cannot prevent CO₂ from being generated during the production of the hardware we use. This is because it is manufactured in countries where we only have an extremely limited influence on production conditions.
However, we can help to make electricity production in these countries (and in other, less developed countries) a little more climate-friendly. We pay for the construction of electricity production plants that are climate-neutral and provide energy from renewable sources. And we provide financial support for projects that promote reforestation.
Reforestation is so important because healthy forests bind CO₂ permanently. The plants take the carbon dioxide out of the air, they need it for their metabolism. Oxygen is produced as a "waste product". This ensures a clean atmosphere.

In which project we invest our CO₂ compensation
In the heart of South Africa, we have found a project that is close to our hearts. The aim of this project in South Africa (Longyuan Mulilo De Aar Maanhaarberg Wind Energy Facility) is to feed the electricity generated by wind power into the grid of the Republic of South Africa (RSA).
The project involves the construction of a new wind farm connected to the grid at a site where no wind farm was operating prior to the implementation of the project. The wind farm consists of 67 wind turbines and associated infrastructure and is located on the Swartkoppies and Maanhaar mountains southwest of the town of De Aar in the Northern Cape province of the RSA. Longyuan Mulilo De Aar Wind Power (RF) (Pty) Ltd is the developer of the wind farm.
A 30-day public comment period on this project was held from September 25 to October 25. No comments were received during this period. The total reduction in GHG emissions at the end of the crediting period is expected to be 4,339,290 t CO2e.
